The Yamaha FG-Junior is a cool little western style guitar coming in at 33 1/4 in. long in total length, and 12 1/2 in. in body width and 3 1/4 in. in depth. It is great for jamming on the couch at home or on the road. I made a custom bone saddle for it and it really enhanced the sound, intonation, resonance, and sustain. It also has a chrome strap button if you prefer standing up to play. This guitar, although small in size, has good volume and that exceptional tone Yamaha is known for. Modeled after the vintage FG folk guitars, the miniature version makes it really fun to play riffs and chords with little effort.
The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. The frets have been polished and are in good shape. The original bridge pins are good, as well. NO buzzing or dead notes of any kind. The bridge, straight neck and braces are all secure to the guitar’s body. Like most guitars that have been around a few years, it does have a few dings and scratches on it but nothing outrageous. Overall it is in good, clean condition.
I put a custom mixed set of Ernie Ball Light and Extra Light Phosphor Bronze strings on it, so it would be perfect for a younger person, someone with small hands, or a beginner that is just starting out. The string gauge sizes are: Low E 50, A 40, D 30, G 22, B 15 and High e 10. You can always upgrade to a set of regular Light strings of any brand once you get the hang of the instrument and build up some hand strength and callouses on your fingers. You could buy a new guitar for a lot more money but it will not have near the tone and playability of this one. The string action on this guitar is comfortable (2.5 mm Low E and 1.75 mm High e) at the 12th fret in standard tuning. The action along with the string gauge, setup, and its size makes it a nice and easy player.
Comes with a gig bag, new guitar strap and picks.
Everything you need to continue or get started on your rock’n roll dream.
