I bought this bike in 1984. I lived 25 years in Alaska didn't get to put many miles on it, winters are long. Since then I have been in southern Utah. Now with medical problems I have to let go of my bike. I use it mostly running around town to the grocery store to the hardware store etc. It has less than 30,000 original miles, a kick start that works and also a push button start. Many years ago I added Python exhaust pipes, SS carb, single fire ignition, and a slightly better cam.
I have all the original parts like pipes , carb, dual fire ignition, cam, etc. All books , original book, parts book , maintenance book, etc. Lots of extra stuff. It is a 80 cubic inch or 1340 cc with 4 speed and kick start, chain drive FXST. This was the first year of the Softail design with the Hardtail look and soft ride. (hidden underneath are springs and shocks) I've changed the oil and filter every year since new. Tires look new but should be changed for long trips this is the third set of tires. I just ride around town slow and its not a worry.
